Another guest post - Is Harry Potter good for the world?
Justin has done a great job on his term
paper and I think it is worthy to share. As I have indicated before, he
is doing a literature/worldview course based off the Harry Potter
series. I assigned him a term paper to answer the question "Is Harry
Potter good for the world?" based on his readings and own thoughts as he
engaged the stories again. His audience is our Christian brothers and
sisters. For my friends who have struggled with the series and/or have
been fearful of where reading it might lead to for your children, I offer
Justin's paper. It is thoughtful, insightful, and gracious and I do believe will
challenge the typical assumptions. But even if you are unconvinced, you still have to admit it's well-done. Good work Justin - you makes a mother proud.

Excellent, Justin...you continue to amaze me with your vocabulary, your ability to organize your thoughts into a paper that flows so nicely, your explanations that support your conclusions, and your ability to write an interesting and entertaining paper. I have proofed college papers that weren't even half so well done. The only thing missing is a copyright mark...
This was excellent, and really helpful to me as someone who has only been an outside observer to the Potter phenomenon. Keep up the good work, Justin.
Excellent work, Justin. You are progressing well as a thinker & writer. Very proud of you!
Very nicely done, Justin!
Parker was actually asked to look at and review some literary critiques as part of his writing class this past week. I steered him toward Justin's paper and he has read and sorted through it looking for the analysis of elements they talked through in class. He is also taking it in as his example next week. He really enjoyed reading this paper and is learning from it too.
Thanks for sharing this, Heather!
