Well, I think settling in may finally be settling in. A lot has happened in just a bit over a month, even by non-moving standards.
We moved.
We celebrated Kevin's birthday.

Took a day out to the Rockies.

We lost Maggie.
We won our fight with Direct TV.
We have become fully legal to work and exist in Canada - and that took a bit.
Have become a part of socialized health care - more on that in another post.
Met several of our neighbors.
Are planning a block party for next Saturday.
Been lost a few times.
Then were found.
And have adopted a new dog.

Yes, it is soon - and we weren't going to look for another dog so soon, but through a series of events we were led to go to the Humane Society on Saturday, and lo and behold, we met Tess (or Tiger is her Humane Society name, but we have already changed it). She is a 3 year old lab mix and her temperament is so much like Maggie's, I just couldn't resist her. She will be spayed tomorrow and we can bring her home tomorrow night.
So we did that and then I came home and cried for my Maggie.
But I really think she and Tess would have been B/F/Fs.
Things left to do:
-organize our school stuff seeing as I am planning on starting on Monday
-find a doctor who will take us on as our primary care physician whom we need in order to get anything else done, like dealing with John's messed up elbow - this will not be an easy feat as everyone we have talked to have said their doctors are not taking on any new patients.
Welcome to universal health care - where the bureaucrats claim everyone can get health care, but what ends up happening is no one does.
And now we are caught up.

Miss you friend! Praying for the details...yes, He's even got crazy universal health care in His hands. Praying that you'll be well taken care of. LOVE Tess! Sad still for Maggie. She was a good dog. Praying for school...for you...for everything really. Did I tell you that I miss you? Should I lay off the caffiene?
Thanks for posting the pics--glad you are getting settled although I am still wishing it were in NC instead. I am glad you found Tess--she looks like she will fit right in. Pets have such a wonderful way of filling in the holes and easing the hurts. Have fun at your block party--hope you make lots of friends.
Love, Mom F
It helps that Tess is a southerner. She understands y'all. :^)
