Today we had to put our beloved Maggie to sleep. She had not been eating well for about two months, losing around 20+ pounds, and liver disease had taken over. We put it off because we just love her so much, but today she began losing bowl functions and function of her back legs.
We are very sad, but very thankful that we were blessed with such a sweet companion for these 10 years. She was a great dog and will be deeply missed in our home.
By the end of the week I hope to have a fuller update on life here. For now I am going to just let the tears keep a comin'. I know they'll subside soon.

I'm so sorry. I loved Maggie too - she was so so sweet. She had a great life with the Fergies...how many dogs get to travel and see the world?!
I'm so sorry Heather! I cried like a baby when our dog(s) died...and will for our current, one, too when that day comes.
It is always hard to lose a friend. I'm sorry Heather.
Tears. . .I'm so sorry Heather.
Heather, I'm so sorry. I know how much you all loved Maggie but especially you. Such a hard time to lose her after moving to a new country when you're already adjusting to a new life. Praying for you. Love ya.
We are so sorry, dear Fergies. We are praying for y'all. - The Bradfords
This just breaks my heart! I'm so very sorry, our four legged friends are part of our families and so special to our hearts.
We've been praying for all of you everday here at VBS.
Miss you so much!
Awww...so sorry. What a special photo.
Oh no, so sorry to hear that you all had to put her down. Poor Maggie, I know she wasn't doing well and it's probably best for her that she is not in pain anymore. I loved her though, she was such a sweet doggie.
She's been a member of the family for so long. Love you guys and thinking of you!!

I am so sorry you all had to lose your wonderful Maggie--tears here as well. She was a great Fergie!
Hugs for you all

Praying for your continued healing over the loss of your sweet furry companion. (((hugs)))
So sorry to hear Heather. Like you told me when we had to put Britney down, these little guys seem to find a place deep, deep into our hears. So much so it almost takes us by surprise and overwhelms us when they are taken away. Maggie can never be replaced but hopefully your new Tessie will help with the pain. God bless dear one.
