Justin's sum-up of the Calgary trip

I like Justin's sum-up of our time in Calgary so much, that I am going to use it as my own sum-up as well.
Take note, this only includes our time in Calgary - along the way up and back, much time was spent with even more friends of which I will post pics in a few days.

Sum-up of our trip (minus the three days driving there and three days driving back): The day after we arrived in Calgary we got to go to a large park which was really pretty, and played there some and rolled down hills (the picture on the other post of me sitting on a hill with other kids rolling down was there), and then went to eat lunch at a place called Peter's Drive-in.

Then (I won't remember all of the stuff we did so I'm just doing the important stuff) we went to (next night I think) a little church banquet where Dad and Mr. Doud did a presentation. Then the next day we went to a church family's house and had a cookout with hot dogs, and we did a sort of treasure hunt thing, which was fun (and our team tied for third place!)

And we did some other stuff until Sunday, which was when my dad was elected by the church as a pastor of the church. Then the next day we drove up to the mountains and visited some lakes (which is where a lot of my pictures are), and we spent all day there - and it is REALLY pretty up there. The lakes are like a crystal blue.
And one day we went to the zoo with Mr. and Mrs. Doud (our parents were not there) and saw some cool animals - one such animal was the whooping crane, a bird that whooped and was white with a maroon head (I vote that TAMU's new mascot). Oh yeah, and a zoo lady got onto us - in front of twenty-five kids (I counted) and three adults (I counted them too), a field trip group, - because some of the nine kids in our group (who shall remain nameless) were making noises at the owls (I wasn't one of them). As we were walking away, one of the ladies in the group commented to her friend, "That's much quieter." I almost looked back and glared at her. :/

And the rest of the time we pretty much hung out with the Douds. The next Sunday after church we began our trip back.

And that's my sum-up of our time in Calgary!

Of course I have a gajillion more pics, so I will be posting them at my leisure in the following days.

And eventually I will write about everything and everywhere and everyone else we have encountered since landing in the U.S.

Oh, my friend, you take the most beautiful pictures! Do you have the one John took of us? I'd like to print it. I know it will bring joy to my heart to see it every day :) It's been a rough day with the kids. Mama is "tarred."

Love you and miss you!!
