Home 4 Good

Homes 4 Good continued to walk us through the process. We had the privilege of my mother serving as our attorney. How many grandparents do you know who get to do their own grandchildren's adoption? It was pretty cool. The judge was so excited to get to do an adoption - I guess it's about the only relatively good thing they get to do. He said he wished he had known he was going to do an adoption that day...he would have brought his dog.

And so on October 22, 2005 - 11 months after entering our home - and without any small domestic animals present, but a very excited family, Colton and Miranda became official Fergusons.

It was a done deal.

We finished the day celebrating with a huge pizza party at the park, allowing our family and friends to communicate to Colton and Miranda they they were now part of a much bigger family than simply the Ferguson clan. They were loved by more than just us. And they were finally right where they belonged.

And so I end with a revisit back to Adoption Day 2005. It is one of our favorite memories - I'm already getting misty-eyed just thinking about it again. :) It was a great day.
Enjoy. (of course the video is blurry again- so just imagine that it's not.)

End note: There is so much more to our story that must be left untold for reasons pertaining to Miranda and Colton's privacy and protection.

Thanks for sharing your family story Heather. Hannah and I have always admired the example you and John have set for us and others. You are both one of the reasons why we hope to also adopt someday. We love you Fergies!

Man! I got teary eyed too. What a beautiful story! And the video was wonderful. I loved one of the last pictures with all the kids... amazing testimony to Gof's grace and faithfulness to His children.

I got teary eyed with everyone else. That was a great story. I have never heard that side of an adoption story. What an amazing testimony of God's love for us.

And if the judge had brought his dog, you would have been glad, I know...animal lovers that you are!

Oh, what a wonderful, wonderful time...prayed over time, time when our lives were going a bit nutty with our move...and yet I look back and think how gracious God has been to put two of His favorite ones, Colton and Miranda, in family. I say Thank you Jesus! with tears, of course!
Love you friends!
