First Skate

Today we ventured on the ice for our first attempt at ice skating.  It was a beautiful day, with even the temperature cooperating - a balmy 42 degrees F - much warmer than I hear our Texas friends and family are feeling today!
A few falls were inevitable, but overall, everyone did great!  Even I made one go around the pond, somewhat (very) shakily, but then gave up because my rental skates were killing my feet!  I do plan on getting out there again, but not before I get my own pair of perfectly fitted skates.

Here are a few images from the day:

Eek! You wore no gloves? I hope you didn't fall! :^D If we wore the same size shoe I'd let you borrow mine! I really like them... they are not figure-skates per-say... I think they are like a sport/recreational version so they look a little more like a hiking boot and are a little less bendy at the ankle (which I think makes me feel a little more secure).

Glad you all got to get out there! Our kids are begging to go soon so maybe we can get it together soon and all go together.
