On prayer

"If you learn to pray, you learn to dream again....To learn how to pray is to enter the world of a child, where all things are possible."

I am currently reading A Praying Life by Paul Miller. So far, it is the best book on prayer I have ever read. It's a call to be "like a child" and interact with our Heavenly Father, as a FATHER - a Father who loves us and delights in us and longs to be intimate with us. It's a call to realize the utter helplessness of our lives and our need for help every moment of every day. "Prayer is bringing your helplessness to Jesus."

"If we think we can do life on our own, we will not take prayer seriouly. Our failure to pray will always feel like something else - a lack of discipline or too many obligations." p.59

Ok - just had to share. I'm going back to my reading now.
