Things to do...things to say

We started back educatin' the yung'uns last week and boy am I tired!

So this post is just to acknowledge that I know I have a few things to do to get my peeps updated, which I hope to work on by, if not before, Saturday - things including posting a few pics from Justin's b-day, and the block party we had on Saturday, as well as the new pup. I will say the pics have made the move from my camera to my computer, but we haven't had much more happening than that.

On another note, friend Nancy was informed at the ER yesterday that catscans cause cancer (really? Like even just one picture does that much damage, or is it just really, really expensive to do one and the one hospital in town has government bureaucrats breathing down its neck to keep it from spending money that's not there - but it's working - the system is working!!! Just wait until those lucky Americans get a taste - boy, they will be wondering what took them so long to see the light!)

But on the positive side, we have found a chiropractor who we believe will really do us some good. He's even a believer in Christ, which was a very nice surprise. But of course, chiropractors aren't covered under this great universal health care ( and neither are prescriptions and ambulances, and dental, and, what else - I thought this was supposed to be universal - WHAT? - we can't afford that??? And that with less than the population of California, President Obama). So we will be paying out of pocket for his services - and getting great service in the process.

But I must say, that all in all, we are digging Calgary. Canadian politeness is way underestimated, at least in Calgary - one gets pretty good service, except at the ER, I guess. Most days give us beautiful weather. We love the house, the location in town, the church. We don't love the prices of everything, which are exorbitant - milk is $4.08 at Walmart, por ejemplo. But it's not like we are the only ones paying high prices - I hear that you adjust. Is that like adjusting to 9 trillon not being that much more than 7 and a half trillion? Hmmm...

So, so far, so very good.

I do believe all will be go will be the flow until in bloweth winter....
But that will be another post altogether.
