Edforth Place Block Party 2009

It seems our neighbors have been talking about a block party for over 4 years, so when John asked one of the guys if they would be interested in doing one, the opportunity was taken immediately and a block party was put into motion.

We all got together last Saturday evening - about 10 families, 3 grills, one grand-baby, one dog, two basketball hoops, one football, 2 Aggie hats (one of the guys had done some work in South Texas a while ago), lots of food and beverages, hailing from all over the world, and even a birthday cake for Justin. We had a blast getting to know one another - some of the families had lived on the street together for 12 years and still didn't know one another.
And the final thought was that we needed to do it regularly - but as one neighbor said, "John must have prayed this into being", I guess we better get praying for the next one.

**Photo disclaimer- I don't know why, but some of my favorite pics would not upload - of course - and I don't have time to figure out why, but all of the pics from Tess, Justin's B-day and the block party can be found at our Flickr site**

Very cool! I hope that your neighborhood is just the beginning of powerful ministry there.
