There & back again

We just came home Monday from a trip out east to see family before we head further west...and north.

You know, most people choose from several options for their vacation - visiting family, or friends, sightseeing some cool place, a camp-out in the mountains, or maybe relaxing on the beach.

Not the Fergusons. We did it all.

We headed to Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina to visit with family. We had a great time seeing Granma and Kate and Justin and a blast taking a day to head up to Washington D.C. together and get in what we could of the capital in such a short amount of time.

After several days with them, we said goodbye and headed to Richmond, VA for lunch with an good friend and former student. From there we headed to a camp in Wythville, VA, then drove on through the Blue Ridge Mountains into the Smokies to spend a couple of nights in Cherokee, North Carolina, camping again. From Cherokee we headed down to Pensacola, set up the tent at another camp, took the kids to the beach for an hour and decided we we ready to get home. So we drove through the night, crashing comfortably in our own beds early Monday morning.

It has taken a few days to recover, but I think we are finally about to get going packing. Because we are moving in a little over a week. Have I mentioned that yet?

We start the trek to Calgary around July 1.

Pictures of the "Vacation of vacations" forthcoming.
