Caught up with the rest of the world

So, we are all big fans of LOST down here. Maybe because we can relate??? Just joking...sort of.

Anyway, the way we have been enjoying the show up until now has been for one of the families to get the DVD set and then we all pass it around. The draw back to this strategy has been the year-long wait in-between seasons in order to get the dvds.

But not any more.

We have catapulted into the 21st century and began downloading the show through iTunes last week. John and I watched all three episodes in one night. Which still left us wanting more. And thus, the drawback. There will be no 4 episode marathons this season. We will have to exercise the self-control to enjoy one episode a week and then wait patiently with the rest of the world. LOST portion-control. It will be a new exercise for us. No more LOST-binging.

An interesting side bit of trivia (for those of you who like that sort of thing...ahem, you know to whom I speak). Anyone know where the actor who plays Desmond was born?
You are never going to guess.
Trujillo, Peru.
How about that.

Those dvd sets are killers. Hours at a time we spent watching one after another. One would finish and we would all look at each other until someone said, "one more, pleeeeease, Dad!" I like it better one week at a time. Well, at the end of the episode I don't like it better (I want MORE, NOW) but in a big-picture-responsible-parenting kind of way, I like it better. :-)

Ashlee and I have found ourselves doing the same thing with DVD's of 'The Office' and '30 Rock'. (We've been known to staly up late on a 'school night' and watch an entire disc's worth of episodes.)

The worst is when you watch two or three seasons' worth and then realise that you have to wait MONTHS for the next DVD release. (Sigh.)
