Apparently dear friend Matt Lee created such a ruckus back home that he had to explain himself on his blog. For the record, I never felt that Matt's ire was directed towards me. I know Matt, I love Matt - this is amusing...and informative - that's all. Again, I do not care about the politics of the War Between the States, War of Northern Agression, Civil War (just pushin' buttons again). To read his response post, click here And don't forget to scroll down for a special request video from me. I had been looking for this song by the Cult. Matt found it for me and it's now out of my system.
Thanks Matt! Love ya! And a special shout out to Ashlee and Gracie Mae.
Now I'm going back to reading British Lit. Jane Austen - here I come.

Now that you are moving on to Jane Austen, does that mean we can grill you about feminism and sexual politics of the 18th and 19th century?
Just wondering. . .
;-D
Don't get me started on that Austen gal... ;)
By the way, I listened to the entire 'Electric' CD by The Cult on my computer at work yesterday with an ear to your thoughts about their songs sounding alike. Here's my take:
The Cult's songs do sound similar--but only from album to album. For example, 'Love' is more of a rock/dance record, 'Electric' is a hard core rock album, and by the time they got to 'Sonic Temple' it was more nuanced and experimental with rockers and ballads (and a couple of songs on that cd that just plain stink).
All in all, 'Electric' is a must for your cd collection, if you ask me!
