Preview to Harry Potter

Well, John has been in the states this past weekend (to return Tuesday morning) to do the wedding for two of our former Peru Mission interns, one of which is also a former RUF Aggie (the groom). So after a day of marrying and partying with old friends, John set out on the hunt to find THE BOOK. And much to our joy, THE BOOK was found.

So being the loving husband and father that he is, he not only took pictures of himself reading the book with the appropriate facial expressions and captions (the above photo is "I didn't see that one coming!"), but he also videoed himself reading the first paragraph out loud and sent it to us. (That I won't share because I am already going to be body-slammed for posting these pictures. )
He has read the last 3 chapters - thus the "that was a really great ending" photo. He has concluded that he should now read the rest of the books, since he enjoyed the last 3 chapters of the last one so much.

As for my predictions, I still don't know anything exactly and would like to keep it that way for now since the book will not arrive home to Trujillo until Tuesday and then Justin will be the first to read it. BUT I am very much receiving mixed messages regarding the predictions from friends who already know the end.

From friend Rachel - When I asked her to give me a yes or no answer to whether my predictions were close, she said, "sort of, but not really" and then gave me the little wink face. Superbly ambiguous, Rachel.

Kenny - who has only read the last 3 chapters -said I was "way off". But sometimes I can't trust everything Kenny says. Isn't that right, Kenny.

I have had the most extensive "conversation" with John - last night over Sightspeed, on an Internet video call, in which he could hear me and Justin, but he was a silent movie, so he wrote through IM. My loving husband told me that we were very close in the predictions but that what Rowling did was even better. He also said that the themes through out the book are OVERTLY Christian.

So that's all for now. Please don't tell me anything about the story - I will be back on with thoughts after my own reading.
Cheerio.

Now Heather, "body-slam" gives an entirely wrong idea. The appropriate term would be "tickle-torture" :O

I can not believe that anyone would read the last three chapters first! Shame on them! Will not say anything about what happens- C and I both finished it last night- but it was an awesome book and finish to our beloved series. You will not be disappointed.

Chris is reading book 5...I think he wants to read to the point where he can watch the current movie that is out. I'm curious about the overt Christian part. Sounds interesting! I miss you friend! Praying safety over John as he travels.
Love,

PS Tickle torture is hilarious!

Tickle torture sounds appropriate Heather. Just be glad you were not one of our cats when John was growing up! I remember him shooting them in mid air with rubber bands. No wait, maybe that was me. Anyway he comes by his tickle torture legitimally. I was so impressed with Justin's song, what a grandson. And viva La Plaza Vea! I know how excited you all have to be. I was thinking John was coming back to the states in August. We had talked about trying to get together but I don't think there was enough time regardless. Write when you get a chance.
Love you Super Mom!

Heather- I just finished. It's really good. It was the best of all the books. I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts. Happy Reading :)

Sounds like pure, vintage John Ferguson behavior!

Thanks for "loaning" him to Daniel & Allie, Heather—all us RUFers who were there enjoyed the chance to spend some time with him again. :)
