Justin has finished THE BOOK and I will begin tonight - after my bath of course.
Will share my thoughts upon finishing.
On a sort of related note - we have not yet seen the fifth movie. It was sold out the first week (which I heard has never happened before) and we figured it would stay on at the theater for a while. (It released the same day here as in the states.) We decided to surprise the kids Thursday afternoon and take them. I looked up the times on the internet. A showing was set to begin at 4pm, so said the website. When we arrived at the movie theater, there was a huge line out the door and down the street. (Think Plaza Vea.) We thought it was strange to still have a line for Harry Potter, so I walked up to the front and inside to see if I could figure out what the line was for and more importantly, could we bypass it. Well, I discovered the line was for everybody (problem number one) most of which were going to see The Simpsons, which opened Thursday here. But I also discovered that Harry Potter had begun at 3:30, not 4:00. We were at the back of the line and it was already 4:00. It was definitely another "welcome to Peru" moment. But we don't end there.
We left, the children not a little dejected, with a well-intentioned promise to try and return Tuesday (after the big Indepence day holiday, a holiday that competes with Christmas for importance in the Peruvian mindset.)
Well, I found out today, that Harry Potter has left Trujillo, as of...Thursday. Uggghhhh! The only consolation was the additional news recieved of the movie only being in English with Spanish subtitles the first week it was out (when all the tickets were bought up by, who? all the English speakers in town but us????). After that first week, it was dubbed over in Spanish, which is a treat we do not wish to indulge in.
Bummer and bummer. So we are doubly glad to have the seventh book in our hands.
Welcome to Peru.

Would the kids be too upset to learn I saw the movie last Friday at the IMAX in 3-D? I debated on letting them know or not. Wish they had all been here to go with me. Miss you all so much!
You are so going to love it. =)
It was the best one yet! Guess that means you gotta wait & see it with US
Enjoy the book, kvk stayed up until all hours reading...didn't email justin for days so she wouldn't "slip" on something...I will start it soon, I hope....
